Mid Season Report - February 2014

Well here we are midway through the season and the boys are doing us proud. They continue to grow and can walk out onto the pitch with their heads held high.
With all the boys getting equal game time to hone their skills, the progress they are making is surprising everyone. With some excellent team displays and some very entertaining games this season, they continue to learn.
All areas of their game are improving. The passing, defending and the goals are starting to come, we just need to watch the concentration!
The boys are growing as a team as well as footballers. They hit the ground running this season, with some tricky circumstances in games. Unfortunately luck was not often on their side and they didn't get the results they deserved. Despite outplaying teams for long periods they still ended up on the wrong side of the score line.
However, the month of November saw everything start to come together with some great results - a couple of wins and four draws by January. This is turning into a great season for the team and expectations continue to grow. The confidence they are showing, even when they are behind, is there for all to see.
With the training sessions uninterrupted this year and only a few games missed, the boys have taken advantage of the terrible conditions that would usually have slowed their progress. With some fun and new methods in training, they really are enjoying themselves.
December saw the boys take a trip to Hawley garden center for the Christmas party. The boys swapped football boots for ice skates and showed us their skating skills, followed by some well-earned party food. Each boy then received a team photo and some sweets for a Christmas present.
So all in all, a successful first half of the season. Let's hope we can carry the momentum into the second half and keep learning, in training and in games. And with some better weather, more glory will be just around the corner.
Well done boys, keep up the hard work.
